D008 SRB Tube Test (pack of 10)
For the determination of sulfate-reducing bacteria
- Addition of the sample with a pipette or swab
- Straw coloured medium reacts to the formation of hydrogen sulphide by bacteria
- Semiquantitative results after 5 days
- Determination the contamination by black precipitation through the agar
The tube test is the right choice if you want to detect anaerobic bacteria and microbiologically caused corrosion. The agar is a semi-solid medium for the analysis of anaerobic microorganisms that can reduce sulphates to sulphite.

Reliably classify and assess risks
The tube tests indicate the presence of microorganisms, especially in water systems and liquids, and offer a semi-quantitative method of measurement. Thus, microbiological risks can be reliably classified and evaluated in most applications, so that countermeasures can be initiated immediately. -
Sampling and use
Take 2 ml of sample liquid with a pipette and place the sample in a test tube. Then incubate at 35°C for up to 5 days with daily controls. The results are determined by the colour change. If no colour change or only bubble formation is visible, there is no contamination.
