Hess-Ives Colour Units (DGK F050.2)

These colour units are based on the spectrophotometric measurement of clear liquids using the red, green and blue/violet regions of the spectrum. The three percentage transmittances are corrected to a single figure which becomes an Hess-Ives colour unit. Hess-Ives colour units are used by the chemical and surfactant industries.
