DPD No. 2 Neutral
For the determination of monochloramine
- Highest accuracy
- Easy handling
- Precise dosing
- Enormous durability
If nitrogen gets into the water, it can combine with some of the chlorine used as a disinfectant, the free chlorine. This produces chloramines, which can be recognised by the characteristic indoor pool smell. Together with other compounds, they are called combined chlorine. The DPD method can be used to find out how large the proportion of monochloramines is. To do this, the free chlorine content is first determined with the DPD No.1 tablet. After adding the DPD No.2 tablet, the value of the monochloramines is available. DPD No.2 tablets are mainly used for colourimetric measurements with comparators.
